Northern New England has an attitude and tempo all it's own. Vermont is most certainly one of the most unique states. With more cows than people and only two major highways it is the ideal place to get away from it all. Majestic green mountains separated by lakes provide the backdrop to this vacation destination.
In the winter the green mountains turn white with snow. This provides visitors and locals alike the opportunity to strap board(s) on and hurtle down to the bottom of the mountain. Along with skiing other popular past times include ice fishing and ice skating.
The first sign of spring is when the sugar maples are tapped, the fires lit, and the smell of maple syrup fills the air. Many of the sugar shacks open to the public so that they can see the process of turning maple sap into maple syrup. Maple season in Vermont is such a big deal that each year a festival is held to celebrate.
Summer welcomes hikers, bikers, boaters, kayakers, campers, and many more to enjoy the great outdoors. Summer in Vermont is filled with fairs, farmers markets, and festivals all across the state.
Autumn means fall foliage and the arrival of leaf peepers. They come just in time to enjoy all of the festivals and craft shows that pop up in the fall. Whether it's picking apples of pumpkins everyone is sure to have a wonderful time.
